Critical Hit Collective was born from a shared passion for both jazz and video game music. What started as jam sessions playing favorite game themes quickly evolved into a dedicated ensemble with a mission to celebrate the rich musical heritage of video games.
Founded in 2025, our band brings together professional musicians from Utah who are also avid gamers. We believe that video game soundtracks represent some of the most innovative and emotionally resonant music being created today, deserving the same respect and attention as any other musical genre.

Saxophone
Wyatt Garcia is our Bari Sax player for the band. He founded Critical Hit Collective in 2025 along side the others displayed, with a vision to bring video game music to life through jazz arrangements.

Dave is a versatile saxophonist and clarinetist with a background in both jazz and classical music as well as the band's sit in director. His expressive playing style and technical precision make him a key part of the band's sound.
Trumpet
Derek's powerful trumpet solos have become a signature sound of Critical Hit Collective. Derek is an avid gamer and one of the main arrangers for the group as well as often co-director.
Saxophone
Brandon brings a unique tone and approach to the saxophone section. With his background across the saxophone family, he adds depth and color to the band's arrangements.
